The Outlander premiere was held tonight at New York’s Ziegfeld Theatre with the cast and fans in attendance for a screening of “The Reckoning.” Below is just a small fraction of tweets from the red carpet, along with photos from Caitriona Balfe as she took over Entertainment Weekly’s Instagram for the night. There will be more coverage from the event soon and this is just a taste of the night’s festivities.

I was so excited to be there! Unfortunately, I missed getting tickets to attend the viewing of episode 109, BUT I did get to meet the cast. They are the BEST! Thank you all for being here and for taking the time for pictures and autographs. I wish you all the best! <3

The fans who had confirmed seats for this event were treated terribly, as those who came early in the morning to wait for “first come, first serve” seats. While passersby and those with no confirmations got to have selifies and get autographs from Sam, hundreds of us were stuck in line behind the block for hours in the cold. And many people who had traveled from all over–New Mexico, Texas, Ohio, Maryland–and were told they definitely would get into the 7pm show did not. A 9pm show was added and the stars made a quick appearance but there was no panel. And the PR team handling the event was terribly rude to all the fans waiting to get in, as though we were an encumbrance instead of the reason why the show’s such a success.
