With Outlander coming to an end next month, there will be a certain purging of Outlander-related material from the making of the show. Given that there is a prequel for Outlander, it would make sense that certain things from the show would be retained or reused. Today brought the news of the first auction of Outlander props and costumes.
Auction house Bonhams will be handling the auctions, both live and online, for Outlander. The live auction will take place on August 5, 2026, and the online auction will run from July 20 until August 4, 2026.
Before the live auction, a preview exhibition of the items will be held from May 26 to May 30, 2026, at Bonhams Edinburgh. There is another exhibition of all the lots at Bonhams New Bond Street from July 20 until August 4, 2026. Both of these exhibitions are free of charge, but you must book tickets in advance. Please follow the hyperlinks to grab a ticket.
Some iconic pieces are going up for auction, but not everything is available to view right now. With auctions like this, make sure you read all the details about the item and ask the auction house questions before the auction.
What jumped out when this auction was first announced was Claire’s red dress from season two. However, the item is not THE red dress but a mockup of the dress to test the fit, design, and structure before the final costume is made.
Other lots are more substantial, screen-used items like Claire’s peacock dress from season seven, Claire’s bat suit from season three, Claire’s three wedding rings, Jamie’s Culloden costume, Black Jack’s Culloden costume, Claire’s juggler’s costume from season one, as well as an original model of Jamie and Claire’s room on their wedding night.

So, what are you going to bid on?
