When I saw the full list of writers and directors for the final season of Outlander, I let out a hearty, loud, “What?!” Other than Caitriona Balfe making her directorial debut on a full episode, we also have Metin Hüseyin back as a director for the final season. Metin directed two episodes in season one, “The Watch” and “The Search,” as well as five episodes of season two, including “Faith.” The one that gobsmacked me the most is that the creator, executive producer, writer, director, and the original showrunner, Ronald D. Moore, wrote episode 808. Ronald D. Moore’s Outlander episodes are among my favorites, and Moore being back in the writer’s seat for the final season is just the cherry on top.
