It’s here . . . Er, no. THEY are here! Entertainment Weekly unleashed their not one, but three Outlander covers ahead of the season three premiere on September 10th (Starz). Shot on the set of Outlander in South Africa, all of the photos and the covers are of Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie). Each actor has a solo cover as well as the cover with them both. Subscribers and those on local newsstands will have access to the solo covers, but only the dual cover will be available at Barnes & Noble beginning Tuesday, August 29th. Along with the cover feature that will undoubtedly feature interviews, there is also a behind the scenes video of the shoot with Sam and Caitriona along with an interview. The video is below, and screencaps are below the official ones from EW.
“I loved it,” Balfe told EW about the South African shoot. “I think it was definitely tough sometimes just because it was hot and that’s something we’re not always used to. And the scripts were quite physically intensive. Either you’re out on the beaches all day or traipsing through a jungle. But I relished the chance to get down and dirty. So it’s good.”
