If you have read the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon, Claire has some healing powers that are similar to Master Raymond’s. Considering Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon) made an appearance in season seven of Outlander, will we get a taste of Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) powers in the final season? Screen Rant asked executive producer Maril Davis about this:
You’re definitely going to see that storyline, and see how it unfolds and evolves, and Claire was definitely a part of that. For Claire in this ninth book, we were looking to give a little more story than was in the book, and this was a great way to do that. It’s such an interesting mystery. Obviously, we’re taking things from the book that Diana [Gabaldon] has posited as possibilities, and we kind of went with that. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I think there’s some great scenes with Caitriona [Balfe] and Florrie [May Wilkinson], who plays Fanny — she’s outstanding. So you definitely will see that as the season progresses, and see how that mystery unfolds.
Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts has said that the mystery of Fanny and Faith will be answered early in the season. So, if Claire’s supposed powers are a clue to the relationship, maybe we will see some of this early in the season as well.
