‘Outlander’ Tartans Among Merchandise Available Through Knockout Licensing’s Two New Official Licensees

Outlander 2014

As if the excitement of Outlander returing to our screens this past weekend was not enough, Knockout Licensing announced two new official Outlander licensees this afternoon. AbbyShot and The Celtic Croft will join Factory Entertainment as official merchandise licensees for the show. The two companies will provide fans with the opportunity to own apparel and accessories based on the series, including MacKenzie and Fraser Tartans.

AbbyShot‘s Outlander line will include limited-eition clothing, including coats, scarves, hates, cowls, and more.

“Our OUTLANDER clothing and accessories will be faithfully styled after the actual costumes and props seen on the television series,” said AbbyShot’s owner and CEO (Creator of Exciting Opportunities), Bonnie Cook. “Now you too can feel as if you have traveled back to Cocknammon Rock at Craigh na Dun, each time you wear an officially licensed product from AbbyShot.”

The Celtic Croft will produce traditional Scottish apparel, including custom-made wool kilts, Tartans, and more. The available Tartans will include the five featured on Outlander: the Outlander Tartan, the Fraser Tartan, the MacKenzie Tartan, the Cocknammon Rock Tartan, and the Craig Na Dun Tartan.

“Fans who want an authentic OUTLANDER kilt can rest assured that our kilts are the real deal, made from the same fabric and sourced from the same weaver as those seen on the show,” said The Celtic Croft Owner Joseph Croft. “The Celtic Croft has been in the kilt business for almost 20 years, making custom-tailored kilts to each customer’s exact measurements. The Celtic Croft is one of the largest U.S. importers of authentic Tartan fabric woven in Scotland.”

The Celtic Croft already has the Outlander Tartans available for pre-order on their site. In addition to the press release, which can be read in its entirty below, The Celtic Croft also made it official on their own site.

The Celtic Croft is now the officially licensed supplier for OUTLANDER The Series™ Official Kilts, Kilted Skirts, and Tartan Products!

OUTLANDER The Series™ Official Tartans are now under production and will be in stock soon. Pre-order your OUTLANDER™ Tartans today! You will be privileged to be one of the first in the world to wear an Official OUTLANDER™ Tartan!

At the heart of everything in these pages are the five tartans created specifically for OUTLANDER The Series™. The tartan fabrics for the production were woven in Scotland from 100% premium wool. The colors chosen are weathered and earth-tone colors common to the era depicted in OUTLANDER The Series™. The fabric for the production was specifically woven in a looser, more rustic weave, just like you would expect from the looms of the 18th century. In short, every effort was made to ensure authenticity.

We offer you this same 100% Premium Wool OUTLANDER™ Tartan Fabric, made by the same weaver, as the tartan used in the making of OUTLANDER The Series™! You can be one of the first in the world, outside of cast and crew, to own and wear your own authentic, official, OUTLANDER™ Tartan!

We’ve also chosen to make some more budget-friendly options available to you. We have 100% wool, and 100% synthetic (a great option if you are allergic to wool!), OUTLANDER™ Tartan fabrics to choose from. Not quite as authentic, and not woven in Scotland, but nonetheless still woven in the Official OUTLANDER™ tartans.

OUTLANDER: The Series
The OUTLANDER television series was developed by executive producer and Peabody Award winner Ronald D. Moore (2005, “Battlestar Galactica”). Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company, and Left Bank Pictures produce Outlander in association with Sony Pictures Television.
The series – which spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale – is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s New York Times bestselling OUTLANDER book series, with eight books and over 25 million sold. OUTLANDER follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 and thrown by circumstances beyond her control into the arms of Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior.
With the first eight episodes having already garnered critical and popular acclaim, OUTLANDER returns to Starz for the second half of its first season on April 4, 2015 in the United States. A second season is in pre-production. The show airs in 87 territories around the world.
